A series of lamps developed during a residency in Onishi, using natural fibers sourced from the local area. The lamps reinterpret the traditional craft of brushmaking, adapting techniques developed over thousands of years into a new form and function. Learned directly from local makers, these methods were used to create lampshades that produce a warm, natural quality of light. The bases were turned from local wood, connecting the pieces through material, place, and the people who shared their knowledge.
